These Terms of Service form a legally binding agreement between you and Akcero Private Limited.
They govern your use of the Horizon application and include important provisions on liability, dispute resolution, and your rights.
By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the App.

These Terms of Service ("Terms"), together with our Privacy Policy available at https://www.akcero.com/privacy, govern your access to and use of the Horizon mobile application ("App") developed and operated by Akcero Private Limited, a company incorporated in India ("Akcero," "we," "us," or "our"). The App is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
By downloading, installing, or using the App in any way, you confirm that: (a) you are at least 13 years of age; (b) you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement; and (c) you have read and agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you are using the App on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms, and references to 'you' include both you individually and that organisation.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through an in-App notice and update the 'Last Updated' date above. Changes take effect 30 days after notification unless we indicate otherwise.
Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to any changes, please stop using the App.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Akcero grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download, install, and use the App on a device you own or control, solely for your personal use.

The App is licensed, not sold. Akcero and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in and to the App, including all related intellectual property. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you beyond the limited licence granted above.
The App — including its source code, interface design, graphics, text, algorithms (including the orientation locking and stabilisation logic), and overall compilation — is owned by Akcero or its licensors and is protected under applicable intellectual property laws, including the Copyright Act, 1957 (India) and international treaties.
The "Horizon" name, the Akcero name and logo, and any other marks used in connection with the App are the property of Akcero. You may not use these marks without our prior written consent.
If you submit ideas, suggestions, or feedback about the App, you grant Akcero a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use and incorporate that feedback into our products and services, without any obligation to compensate you. This does not affect your ownership of the underlying idea in any broader context.
If you believe any content within the App infringes your copyright, please contact us at info@akcero.ai with: (a) identification of the copyrighted work; (b) identification of the allegedly infringing content; (c) your contact information; and (d) a statement that you have a good faith belief the use is unauthorised and that the information provided is accurate.
You retain full ownership of all video and audio content you record using the App. As between you and Akcero, your recordings belong to you.
We do not upload, access, store, or process the content of your recordings. All media is saved directly to your device's local storage and remains entirely within your control.
You are solely responsible for how you use the App's recording features, including ensuring that:
Recording Laws — Please Be Aware
Recording laws vary significantly across jurisdictions. In many countries and Indian states, recording a person without their knowledge or consent may violate applicable law.
Recording in private spaces, sensitive locations, or during confidential proceedings without authorisation is prohibited virtually everywhere.
Horizon is a neutral utility tool. You are solely responsible for using it lawfully. We disclaim all liability for recordings made in violation of applicable law.
The App offers a premium plan with additional features available through a paid subscription or one-time purchase. The following applies to all paid features:
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy at https://www.akcero.com/privacy, which is incorporated into these Terms. The Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. Please read it carefully.
The App integrates third-party services including Firebase (Google LLC) for crash reporting and analytics, and Razorpay for payment processing. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services or their practices.
The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Your use of the App is also subject to:
Apple Inc. and Google LLC are each third-party beneficiaries of these Terms to the extent required by their platform developer agreements and may enforce these Terms against you in that capacity. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Apple's or Google's terms with respect to App distribution, the platform's terms govern.
Any references to third-party services within the App are provided for convenience. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party service.
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You must not use the App to:
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Akcero expressly disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that the orientation locking or stabilisation features will achieve any specific technical result in all circumstances. Performance may vary depending on your device model, OS version, sensor capabilities, and conditions of use.
Some jurisdictions do not permit the exclusion of implied warranties. In such jurisdictions, the above exclusions apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Akcero and its officers, directors, employees, affiliates, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of recordings, loss of revenue, or damage to your device.
Our total cumulative liability to you for all claims arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the App will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) INR 1,000 (one thousand Indian Rupees).
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation of certain types of damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the minimum extent permitted by applicable law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Akcero and its officers, directors, employees, affiliates, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use or misuse of the App; (b) your recordings or content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any applicable law or third-party right.
We reserve the right to assume control of the defence of any matter subject to this indemnification at your expense. You agree to cooperate with us in that defence.
Before initiating any formal proceedings, you agree to first write to us at info@akcero.ai with a description of your dispute and the resolution you are seeking. We will make a genuine effort to resolve the matter informally within 30 days. Most concerns can be resolved quickly this way.
If informal resolution is not successful, either party may refer the dispute to mediation administered by a mutually agreed mediator or mediation centre in Hyderabad, India. Mediation is non-binding unless both parties agree to be bound by the outcome. The costs of mediation will be shared equally unless otherwise agreed.
If a dispute is not resolved through informal negotiation or mediation, it shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Nothing in this section limits your rights under applicable consumer protection law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 (India). Residents of other jurisdictions retain rights under their respective mandatory consumer protection laws.
You may stop using the App and terminate this agreement at any time by uninstalling the App. Termination does not entitle you to a refund except as required by applicable law.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App — including premium features — at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. We will attempt to give reasonable notice where practicable, unless the circumstances require immediate action.
On termination, your licence ends immediately. The following sections survive termination: 4, 5.3, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 15.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any supplemental terms for specific features, constitute the entire agreement between you and Akcero regarding the App and supersede all prior agreements or understandings on the same subject.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms on any occasion does not waive our right to enforce it on another occasion. Any waiver must be in writing to be effective.
You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms, in whole or in part, including in connection with a corporate restructuring, merger, or sale of assets, with reasonable notice to you.
We are not liable for delays or failures in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, power or network failures, or third-party service outages.
These Terms are written in English. Any translation is provided for convenience only. In the event of conflict between the English version and any translation, the English version controls.
Notices from us to you will be delivered through the App or by posting an update on our website. Notices from you to us should be sent by email to info@akcero.ai.
